NARI’s roots go back to 1935 with President Roosevelt’s National Recovery Act and the New Deal. The Act focused on creating codes of “fair practices” and reducing disruptive issues plaguing workers or unions with their employers and furthermore promoted healthier business relationships between companies competing in the same sectors.
By 1983, the National Remodelers Association and the National Home Improvement Council joined to establish what is now the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
Today, NARI promotes consumer awareness, works to improve industry regulations pertaining to government affairs, provides education and certifications, and requires all members adhere to a strict code of ethics and standards of practice.
Because of the organization’s sustained and consistent message the operation has flourished to 58 chapters nationwide. NARI’s headquarters are located in Des Plaines, Illinois and is known as, “The Voice of The Remodeling Industry”™.
NARI’s Core Purpose is to advance and promote the remodeling industry’s professionalism, product and vital public purpose.
